Founded in 1996, Straight Up Breakbeat, is the oldest Drum & Bass label in Finland.
Based in the capital of the country with the happiest people, Straight Up Breakbeat aims to deliver and represent the modern Jungle and Drum & Bass movement.
And eventually, they do know to score.
As a homage to their hard work, I've invited the label manager, ODJ Dizzy (a.k.a. Juha Ponteva) to share with us facts and stories around his imprint from the early days till now, the Drum & Bass scene over Finland, his sub-label Mystery City and Finns pionners within the scene, from his his funk, jazz etc. influences and love to the music to the current 25th anniversary of Straight Up Breakbeat.
Dizzy has put also a Mix including 'the foundations and the future of Straight Up Breakbeat' as he recalls.
