On 28th September 2022, The Prodigy celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album 'EXPERIENCE', which came out via XL Recordings. The album peaked at No.12 in the official UK album Charts and can be easily described as an indispensable Rave Bible that pioneered the Hardcore Breakbeat sound.
In the end, it's all about the energy.
Hats off to the main brain Liam Howlett, who was only 19 years old when he wrote, produced, engineered and recorded the 'EXPERIENCE' tracks in his home studio (called Earthbound) in Braintree of Essex.
'EXPERIENCE' is an absolutely uplifting album full of outstanding thumping rhythms.
Highlighted from the controversial 'Charly', the catchy reggae chorus and breakdown of 'Out of Space', the aggressive breakbeats of 'Music Reach 1/2/3/4', the cinematic ambient and acid rocker 'Weather Experience', the frenzy horns of 'Jericho' and the smashing ragga breakbeat 'Ruff In The Jungle Bizness' till the 'stage' angle of the boys with 'Death Of The Prodigy Dancers'. Of course there are plenty more of tracks from there, and even more amazing b-sides and also remixes that Liam put that time.
'EXPERIENCE' is an album that has no rules, meaning it has a punk character. And that's eventually the style of Hardcore.
